Implementation

It has been said often that any management information system is only as good as the way in which it is implemented. PASS is no different. It is a comprehensive software package that can cover all or any aspects of a schools administration. The key to success is the way in which WCBS helps schools get it established.

As soon as an agreement to adopt PASS has been reached the process begins. A project manager or key contact will work with the new customer to draw up a detailed Implementation Plan. This will cover the installation of software, data transfer, training, design of pre-printed stationery and any technical issues. Most importantly it will establish the key milestones for the establishment of PASS. These will be monitored by the project manager to ensure that they are hit or that appropriate action takes place.

The whole process is over seen by two office-based project coordinators who are available throughout the working day to discuss any queries you may have. They will work with technicians, training consultants and the school's staff to keep the implementation moving forward.

Data Transfer

Everyone moving to PASS as their school administration or accounting system has some kind of system/database already.  Often this contains a lot of facts and information about pupils, parents and staff that must not be lost.  Transferring this data to the new management information system is a key part of a successful implementation.

Many years ago WCBS recognised this and established a specialist data transfer team.  This group works with the project management unit to achieve a quality data transfer with a high degree of accuracy.  A comprehensive data transfer manual is made available to all new customers.  This gives templates in Excel to help the school provide the current data in the best possible shape for transfer to PASS.  It identifies any potential anomalies and eliminates errors.

WCBS carry out extensive testing on the transferred data before it is installed on the customer's system.  Any queries will be worked through with the appropriate contact at the school.  The aim is to make the transition as seamless as possible and to retain data wherever practical.
