First year of Hong Kong office heralded a success

After trading for more than a year, the team at WCBS International has been able to look back and reflect on a successful period of operation since its inception.

Results have exceeded expectations and the year has seen the successful establishment of customers in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.

Key to success has been the development of a dedicated International Sales Office in Hong Kong in mid 2010. WCBS International is a wholly-owned subsidiary of WCBS. Those working out of the Hong Kong office include James Whale, Regional Director for Asia and Pamela Wallace, International Sales Office Coordinator.

The Hong Kong office is able to draw on the established expertise of WCBS in the UK where the company has established a strong track record over 27 years of serving fee-paying schools. With turnover in excess of £4million per year, the company provides software and services to more than 10,000 users from over 500 schools. To meet demand, WCBS has been recruiting across different functions of the business and now has in excess of 60 staff delivering products and service for which it is renowned.

To further service its international customers, WCBS offers dedicated support from a large team of professionals. The International Helpline from 0200 UK time to 1700 UK time. It is complemented by a team of international training consultants who visit Asia as required.

In keeping with its customer-centric focus, WCBS International prides itself on its flexibility and willingness to adapt to individual customer requirements. As such, the company is able to carry out extensive bespoke work to meet demand. An example is the provision of a system to English Schools Foundation for billing 17,000 students across 21 schools.

Tailored product development also ensures that our products are geared to the demands of international schools, including those following the IB curriculum. Such innovative approaches are seen right across the company and are highlighted more recently through the launch of 3Sys – combining powerful web based routines for teachers with a high degree of configurability for the IT Manager.
