ECIS 2008 Annual Conference

The 2008 ECIS (European Council of International Schools) Annual Conference, held from 19 to 23 November at the Nice Acropolis Hotel in the south of France, was a successful event for WCBS.

According to Managing Director Tony Child, the company's continued business growth with international schools was a subject of keen interest at the event.

"We were able to show visitors to our stand a newly published case study which explains how the International School of Basel is benefiting from its implementation of PASS," he says.  "It brought to life, for people who were not familiar with PASS, precisely what the system can do for a school facing some of the same challenges that they are also contending with."

WCBS was also co-sponsor of the ISC - International Schools Research Limited Annual Dinner, which was attended by many leading figures from the international schools' arena, including head-teachers from a number of major schools.  "This was particularly useful for Simon Lewis, our new International Sales Executive, who had a brilliant opportunity to meet many of the key players in his market," Tony continued.

"PASS is a big, powerful tool.  We are still getting our heads round it and what it can do for us.  All I can say is that our experience to date has been very good indeed."

The words of Claude Sanford, IT Service Manager at the International School of Basel (ISB).  Any initial doubts about the solution's ability to cope with the subtly different needs of international schools have been swept away during the first year of implementation.

Alongside the improved performance that PASS is enabling, in areas from  administration to reporting, Claude has been particularly impressed by the service he's received from the WCBS support team.  "There has not been a single occasion when they haven't got back to us immediately with the right response," he says.

The full case study on the implementation of PASS by the ISB is now available for download here.
