This course has been designed for Bursars and School Accountants new to passFINANCE. It aims to provide an overview of all passFINANCE software modules and how they interact with each other.

Introduction to passFINANCE;

  • Security
  • How the individual modules link together
  • How passFINANCE fits in with the other areas of the school.
  • Multiple companies

Overview of Billing Module;

  • Flexible billing set up (multiple bill payers, companies)
  • Termly and annual billing
  • Importing extras (MS Excel, External Exams and School Shop)
  • Direct Debit
  • Email fee bills

Overview of Nominal Ledger;

  • Example Nominal Ledger structure (including SORP and SOFA accounting requirements)
  • Departmental analysis
  • Budget management and reporting
  • NL inquiry including drill down

Overview of Purchase Ledger;

  • Register invoices
  • Bacs payment / email remittances
  • Overview of Payroll
  • Teachers’ Pensions
  • Electronic returns
  • Detailed NL analysis

Summary of other passFINANCE Modules;

  • Commitment Accounting
  • Grant Management
  • Fixed Assets
  • School Shop
  • Sales Ledger

Reporting in passFINANCE modules;

  • Introduction to ‘built in’ passFINANCE reports
  • Overview of ODBC, example reports
  • Overview of Report Builder, example reports
