HUBmis saves valuable time and copes with special requirements

ACE of Brussels is a unique and inspirational school community where Project Based Learning allows their students to do, to experience and to construct.

They use a variety of curricula and strategies to suit the children as they study maths, literacy, sciences, languages and technology, and were looking for an MIS suitable for their international location, with integration functionality and at a price that a small school could afford.

The school family at ACE of Brussels

As a registered school of Cambridge Assessment International Education, part of the University of Cambridge, and a Cambridge International examination centre, ACE of Brussels in Belgium looks after both school and private candidates who wish to sit their iGCSE and A-Level examinations. Along with the Project based learning approach to education, this small school needed an MIS that would cope with their special requirements and prove to be a cost-effective time saver.

Principal Jackie Daire has this to say

Jackie Daire ACE of Brussels

HUBmis caters for all of our needs as an International School and moving to cloud native technology has saved us a huge amount of time and money.

We had plenty of training on all the various aspects of HUBmis and the sessions were recorded so we could always refer to them – so useful!

It is very user friendly and does not come with a load of stuff that we do not use. It’s the old washing machine analogy – why buy a washing machine with a million programmes when you will only use three of them!

It has reduced the number of hours that we spend looking for information but, as we are still populating the system, it is not yet reducing these hours. It will!

Remote accountancy has benefitted hugely by having access to school data and we are benefiting from improved school processes already.

Getting up and running with HUBmis

The implementation process was headed up by WCBS Consultancy Services Manager, Sarah Burnell, with her delivering the training, and Emma dealing directly with the induction and implementation. ACE needed a customisable solution due to their small size and not having a large compliment of staff, plus catering to students speaking languages other than English. And they wanted to maintain the intimacy of being small and family-oriented, so didn’t want their MIS to be generic and inflexible.

Regardless of these pre-requisites, the whole process was in no way hindered as HUBmis has been designed and developed as a cloud native solution specifically for independent and international schools.

The staff at ACE were really happy with Sarah’s approach, and very pleased with the work done by Emma, and enjoyed the helpful nature and fast turn-around when contacting the Support Team.

The school’s favourite functions

Jackie lists the following favourite functions:

  • Saving the school money as staff are not spending hours looking for information.
  • The workload of the teachers has been reduced.
  • Remote accountancy has benefitted hugely by having access.
  • The adaptability of the system means we have exactly what we want – and are not having to pay for features we don’t need!
  • Everything is under one roof for Attendance, Assessments, Wellbeing, communication and it saves her hours of admin time – it’s phenomenal!
